It all started with a chance encounter—I saw one of Ruth Asawa’s looped wire sculptures in a design book several years ago. I was captivated and intrigued, drawn into the wonder of the piece. Inspired. I thought if I had a piece like that hanging in my home, I’d never get tired of looking at it.

After years of trial and error, I was eventually able to design and create pieces for myself and others, who loved them, too.

Although I’m self-taught in the looped wire technique, I’d had previous experience with ceramics and the fiber arts.

I’ve found that for me, wire is the perfect medium to explore shape, texture, light, and the connections between them, while maintaining a feeling of lightness and transparency.

The joy of designing a piece and watching the shape emerge from the wire keeps me fascinated and motivated to keep creating.
